Aphra Adkins

I walked up the steps to the Veracruz Gallery not knowing what to expect not having ever been there before.  When I reached the landing, I saw art covering the walls that looked as if it were there to stay.  Then as I turn to my left there sat two racks of clothing. On them hung, dresses, skirts, tops, and bottoms.   Some in subtle grays alongside vibrant reds and blues. I loved the flirty dresses. I say flirty because I would wear one out on a date or to get a date ;-)!  Anywho, every clothing item there was made by the hands of Aphra Adkins.  Her pieces are amazing.  If you’re into fashion and want a piece that is unique and you don’t feel the need to see 10,000 other people wearing the same thing, you defiantly need to get in contact with Aphra Adkins. By the way, I took some pics, click the link and enjoy….http://smu.gs/11oQF6p

Oh, by the way here is the link to her site: aphraadkins.com

8th Annual DC Loves Dilla

I was gifted with the opportunity to attend the DC Loves Dilla concert last week Wednesday at the Howard Theater.  It was amazing.  I didn’t see the entire show (getting older – I requires – more sleep) but the acts I did see rocked it!!!!  The most amazing part is I’ve never seen or heard of any of them before, but now I know.  Sorry can’t remeber their names at the moment, however, I do have pictures from the night.  Click the link and enjoy… http://smu.gs/18ZGXw6

Summer Solstice at the Harbor

My longest day was very delightful.  I spent the latter part of the day at National Harbor in Oxon Hill, MD with a good friend eating, talking and taking pictures.  The breeze was warm and light with lots of chattering people moving about adding to the vibrancy of the setting sun.  What did you do today?  I certainly hope whatever it was; it brought you the kind of peace that makes your lips part into a smile.  Please click the link and enjoy….http://smu.gs/12gKTj1

Oh by the way, if you are not familiar with the summer solstice check out this link! http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2013/06/130621-summer-solstice-2013-longest-day-sun-earth-space-science/

Leah Likes… Georgetown Waterfront

So my photo partner in crime Lady Tre’ (and her daughter Stephanie who is an excellent little photog) decided we should go photograph stylish people in the Georgetown section of DC. As I began to shoot, I found people who’re energy surpassed the clothes they were wearing, and I call that pure awesomeness! The one thing I learned today is, it is not always what you wear, it’s how you wear it. Click the link and enjoy… http://smu.gs/10ztjpF

Oh, yes there is somewhat of a theme here. Everyone has something in common in all the photos except for one person; please tell me who it is. Sorry, there is no prize 🙂
